Archiving for Kurdsat TV

Computer software expert Jasper Krijgsman is helping Kurdsat TV to adapt its archives to the computer age. He started a consultancy of 5 days on October 26, 2010 at the studio's of Kurdsat in Sulaymaniya. Kurdsat wants to adapt its archive to digital recording and digitalise its existing archive as well.


Krijgsman made the national archives of Dutch TV ('Beeld en Geluid') available for users of internet, and worked on a number of software projects in the Netherlands.

The first part of IMCK workshop on Knowledge Awareness of Oil and Gas finishes in Kalar Ali Ghazi from Nature Iraq explains how oil and gas impact on the environment and IMCK journalism trainer Khaled Suleiman helps the journalists develop story ideas.   Part 2 of the workshop is in Sulaymaniya in December.  Experts on  oil and gas will give information to help journalists become more specialized on the topic.

KDP women training

Gregor Niessen ,an expert on capacity building for political parties and NGO ’s started on March 15 a 5-day training for 24 women from the Kurdish Democratic Party ( KDP . The other days he will train together with Sabina Gazic , member of the Amsterdam City Council. They will make the women more aware of the political process and encourage them to strive to reach top positions within the KDP . They will talk with them about how to get this more visible role and how to get trough the ceiling.
