Hurray! KirkukNow 2 years!


Today we celebrate the second birthday of KirkukNow.com; the independent news website from and for Kirkukis that has a special eye for human interest stories.
The site was founded two years ago to provide all Kirkukis with un biased news about all people in the city, regardless their background, in 4 different languages. The site has grown to be a successful medium with a continuously growing number of readers and people who respond.


We thank the KirkukNow staff for all their effort and input led by Editor-in-Chief Salam Omer.
Hopefully there will be many birthdays to come, PIROZBET!

The first part of IMCK workshop on Knowledge Awareness of Oil and Gas finishes in Kalar Ali Ghazi from Nature Iraq explains how oil and gas impact on the environment and IMCK journalism trainer Khaled Suleiman helps the journalists develop story ideas.   Part 2 of the workshop is in Sulaymaniya in December.  Experts on  oil and gas will give information to help journalists become more specialized on the topic.

KDP women training

Gregor Niessen ,an expert on capacity building for political parties and NGO ’s started on March 15 a 5-day training for 24 women from the Kurdish Democratic Party ( KDP . The other days he will train together with Sabina Gazic , member of the Amsterdam City Council. They will make the women more aware of the political process and encourage them to strive to reach top positions within the KDP . They will talk with them about how to get this more visible role and how to get trough the ceiling.
