IMCK boardmeeting with new boardmember Fatah Zakhoye


On Thursday 15 September the board of the IMCK held its first meeting with its new boardmember Fatah Zakhoye. He was a Minister of Culture in the former Kurdistan government of Sulaymaniya.

Chairwomen is Parwa Ali, vice-chair is Asos Hardi. Other board members are Kawa Mohammed, Rebin Rasul, Aram Saeed. Another new member, Srwa Abdulwahid, could not be present. The meeting took place at the IMCK office in Sulaymaniya.

The first part of IMCK workshop on Knowledge Awareness of Oil and Gas finishes in Kalar Ali Ghazi from Nature Iraq explains how oil and gas impact on the environment and IMCK journalism trainer Khaled Suleiman helps the journalists develop story ideas.   Part 2 of the workshop is in Sulaymaniya in December.  Experts on  oil and gas will give information to help journalists become more specialized on the topic.

KDP women training

Gregor Niessen ,an expert on capacity building for political parties and NGO ’s started on March 15 a 5-day training for 24 women from the Kurdish Democratic Party ( KDP . The other days he will train together with Sabina Gazic , member of the Amsterdam City Council. They will make the women more aware of the political process and encourage them to strive to reach top positions within the KDP . They will talk with them about how to get this more visible role and how to get trough the ceiling.
