Kirkuk TV training ended

The 'Reporting on local issues' training for Kirkuk TV-makers ended on May 5, 2010 with a program of the items produced, and a group picture.


The participants showed progress, and declared their happiness about the training and about the way they were able to work in harmony with colleagues from other media in Kirkuk.

The two projects for Kirkuki journalists IMCK conducted, were possible due to funding through the British consulate in Erbil. Project coordinator was IMCK's Saman Penjwini, who was assisted in Kirkuk by Mohammed Kirkukly. Trainers were Hassan Rachidi, Xdir Domle and Robert Slagt.

The first part of IMCK workshop on Knowledge Awareness of Oil and Gas finishes in Kalar Ali Ghazi from Nature Iraq explains how oil and gas impact on the environment and IMCK journalism trainer Khaled Suleiman helps the journalists develop story ideas.   Part 2 of the workshop is in Sulaymaniya in December.  Experts on  oil and gas will give information to help journalists become more specialized on the topic.

KDP women training

Gregor Niessen ,an expert on capacity building for political parties and NGO ’s started on March 15 a 5-day training for 24 women from the Kurdish Democratic Party ( KDP . The other days he will train together with Sabina Gazic , member of the Amsterdam City Council. They will make the women more aware of the political process and encourage them to strive to reach top positions within the KDP . They will talk with them about how to get this more visible role and how to get trough the ceiling.
