Interview training at Kurdsat


Presentors, editor and journalists at Kurdsat TV in Sulaymaniya on April 9 finished a five day workshop on interviewing and presenting. Dutch TV-reporter and actor Paul Grijpma also practised with them how to make a reportage and a good voice-over.
,,You are lucky in Kurdistan, to have news on every street corner'', Grijpma told his students, ,,I wish we had that in Holland too!''
His workshop was very practical, with a lot of exercises and almost real life situations. All ten participants succesfully practised the 'stand-upper', inside and on the spot, always with the camera running and to be commented on afterwards.

The first part of IMCK workshop on Knowledge Awareness of Oil and Gas finishes in Kalar Ali Ghazi from Nature Iraq explains how oil and gas impact on the environment and IMCK journalism trainer Khaled Suleiman helps the journalists develop story ideas.   Part 2 of the workshop is in Sulaymaniya in December.  Experts on  oil and gas will give information to help journalists become more specialized on the topic.

KDP women training

Gregor Niessen ,an expert on capacity building for political parties and NGO ’s started on March 15 a 5-day training for 24 women from the Kurdish Democratic Party ( KDP . The other days he will train together with Sabina Gazic , member of the Amsterdam City Council. They will make the women more aware of the political process and encourage them to strive to reach top positions within the KDP . They will talk with them about how to get this more visible role and how to get trough the ceiling.
