More radio reporting in Irbil


After succesfully ending his radio workshop in Sulay-maniya (all eight participants received a certificate), Dutch radiomaker Joris van de Kerkhof started on January 25th on a second workshop, now in Irbil. Radiomakers from different radiostations in the Kurdish capital joined him at the facilities of Radio Zagros to learn in 5 days how to report for radio.

The workshop was organised by IMCK together with the Kurdistan Organisation for Civil Development, and will end at January 29.

The first part of IMCK workshop on Knowledge Awareness of Oil and Gas finishes in Kalar Ali Ghazi from Nature Iraq explains how oil and gas impact on the environment and IMCK journalism trainer Khaled Suleiman helps the journalists develop story ideas.   Part 2 of the workshop is in Sulaymaniya in December.  Experts on  oil and gas will give information to help journalists become more specialized on the topic.

KDP women training

Gregor Niessen ,an expert on capacity building for political parties and NGO ’s started on March 15 a 5-day training for 24 women from the Kurdish Democratic Party ( KDP . The other days he will train together with Sabina Gazic , member of the Amsterdam City Council. They will make the women more aware of the political process and encourage them to strive to reach top positions within the KDP . They will talk with them about how to get this more visible role and how to get trough the ceiling.
