Exhibition from Najaf

Pictures from Najaf were shown on November 11 in Irbil. The exhibition will be in Sulaymaniya from November 15.
IMCK made this first personal exhibition of Alaa al-Marjani 's possible.
After attending the photo journalism course of Eddy van Wessel, his exhibition was opened of pictures from daily life in Najaf, of displaced Iraqi's and of mass graves in the South of Iraq.

Consultancy at Awene newspaper

On behalf of Press Now Pyns Bosker started on November 2 a consultancy at Awene to help to develop a business model for its online products. He will focus on how to use the internet as a marketing and income generating tool. Awene is considered as one of the independent newspapers in Kurdistan. It was established in 2006 and is owned by its editors and journalists. Press Now has supported Awene from the very start in 2006. Apart from financial support, Press Now provided managerial advice and journalistic training.

KDP women training

Gregor Niessen ,an expert on capacity building for political parties and NGO ’s started on March 15 a 5-day training for 24 women from the Kurdish Democratic Party ( KDP . The other days he will train together with Sabina Gazic , member of the Amsterdam City Council. They will make the women more aware of the political process and encourage them to strive to reach top positions within the KDP . They will talk with them about how to get this more visible role and how to get trough the ceiling.
